27. Mother. Salon Owner.
Bridal Hair Specialist.
WHERE MY JOURNEY STARTED:
I was introduced to the industry in 2006 as a Saturday girl, first started as a wedding hairdresser in 2009, and opened my salon Bouclé in 2011. Weddings became my passion and I've been a Wedding Hair Specialist for the past 6 years, they were always part of Bouclé before launching Gina Lou back in 2018 with my Wedding Hair Accessory range.
FAVOURITE SUPPLIER TO WORK WITH:
Well this is easy, as a passionate Wedding Hair Specialist, it has to be someone equally as enthusiastic about Weddings! Definitely Katy Doggett at Kiss the Bride Kate, the best Makeup artist I've worked alongside!
FAVOURITE WEDDING HAIRSTYLE:
Well as most of my Brides know I love a proper hair up, I very rarely recommend having your hair down. But one of my favourites, as a wedding hair stylist, has to be a traditional bun from Summer 2018 on a lovely bride called Sarah.
FAVOURITE VENUE SO FAR: Holdenby House, Northampton. Wow what a showstopper, from the driveway to the bridal room, perfect photography backdrops, and ample space for the Bridal Party to get ready which is always an added bonus as a Wedding Hair stylist!
FURTHEST TRAVELLED SO FAR:
I was so privileged to be asked in 2018 to be the Wedding Hairdresser for a very special Bridal Party out in Ibiza, for a destination wedding..
A Bridal Hairdresser is the artist that creates your Princess Hair you dreamt of as a little girl.
Well firstly, congratulations... I'm guessing that's the reason you're here, you're engaged, and now the planning for your Big Day begins. So where do you start? Well most will start at the wedding venue to confirm the date then come and find us pretty soon after. Unless you are Laura, one of my Brides from 2017, then you check the availability of your favourite Wedding Hair specialist (that's myself and MUA Kiss the Bride Kate) then go to book your venue! What a privilege to be wanted that much!
Well I'd like to think all of my brides chose me as their wedding hairdresser for the same reasons, that they love my work and the effort I put in to get to know you on the lead up to your big day. It's so important for you to feel comfortable with me, as I'll be sharing the biggest day of your life with you. And incase nobody has told you, the wedding morning can be hectic, so your chosen wedding suppliers should all be able to keep you calm and for everything to run smoothly taking away unnecessary stress. As a bridal hair specialist, we are usually the last supplier to leave, having placed the veil, I'd check everyone is happy and leave you to marry your best friend. I'm often asked to help get everybody ready and this is such an honour that my brides feel this comfortable with me that they trust me to lace the dresses or loop the buttons, and this, I believe, is the way your Bridal Hairdresser should be.
